2012 New Year Resolution – Ready to Make More Money?

It’s a brand new year 2012!

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday with family and friends and are excited towards 2012! A few of my close friends and I would love to sit down and talk about our goals and resolutions in 2012.

Do you know that…

“Your Success Today is the Sum of The Decisions You’ve Made In The Past 6 to 12 Months?”

I know it might sound hard to believe but every single decision you’ve made today is going to one way or another contribute to your success.

Let me share with you my story almost 6 years ago…

I was entrepreneurial but I have no idea how to start a business. I was only 19-20 years old back then and I weren’t in college yet.

At that time, I went for a motivational NLP course by Adam Khoo and that was the time when I wrote down my goal…

And one of the goals is to become a millionaire at the age of 26.

I know, you are starting to think if I’m a millionaire now.

Yes I’m not a millionaire yet, but there is something I’ve learned in the process of setting this goal…

You see, the fact that I’ve set this goal, I started moving towards it back 6 years ago and right now, I’m making 6 figures of income from the Internet. That would probably be 3 times more the income I would have earned if I worked in a company instead.

And I’m not done with my goals yet.

You see, setting goal is about setting the direction to move towards to. If you don’t set a goal, you’ll be moving like a random air molecule, with no specific direction to move towards to.

And you are not able to master anything in the end of the day, which is the key to be successful in any area of your life.
I hope I have convinced you the importance of setting your goals.

Have you made your New Year Resolution yet?

If you have not, these list could probably be your money and wealth goal for 2012:

1) Build a website and generate a $5,000 passive income from it

2) Leverage on the Internet and drive 6 figures of sales for your business

3) Make an income from investments – stocks, forex, properties, precious metals etc.

Does your new year resolution fall into the above 3 options?

If you have not made your new year resolution, here are some ways to assist you to make your goals in the year of 2012.

1) Know your current wealth level and are you happy towards it -

When you know your current situations, you are able to understand where you are standing and how far away you are from your goals. Do you have any passive income? Do you have other sources of income besides your main job? How much do you save? How much more money do you want to make? Why do you want to make more money?

Write down in a notebook or whiteboard – Especially the question on “Why do you want to make more money?” Search deep inside your heart to search for reasons to why you want to make more money.

This sounds strange but when I’ve talked to a few successful friends who have achieved tremendously in their businesses or what they do, it is seldom about the money. It is not about happiness too.

It is about deeper things like “I just enjoy making a difference to other businesses or people”, “Money has helped me to create more value to people’s lives”.

And I’m glad to see that many of the successful friends I’m surrounded with have these mindset rather than what most people think “that rich *******”

For me, it’s about helping and influencing more people to have the ability and capability to make money from the Internet.

There was this coaching client who I’ve helped and his income literally shot up 25-50% after just 2 coaching sessions.
It was one of my most satisfying moments last year because this client has listened to my advice, took action upon it and see the results within weeks.

And that is my purpose in achieving more success and wealth in my businesses because the more success I’ve achieved, the more value and experiences I could teach and share with my clients.

The same goes to you too. You want to find your purposes in making more wealth and money. Not just buying those branded cars or houses, but a deeper meaning…

2) Write down your goals -

After you found out about the “Whys”, set your goals and ask yourself what do you want to achieve for your business, money, and wealth?

Do you want to build a 6 figures business? Do you want to become a millionaire? Do you want to make a passive income of $3,000 a month?

There are some good guidelines to set your goals:

Specific – A specific goal has a greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal. A good example is “I want to make an additional trading income of $1,000 from forex in just 30 days” or “I want to build a million dollar business in 1 year”. And a bad example is “I want to be rich”.

Actionable – Hoping to become rich by gambling with jackpot is not an actionable goal. Neither is trying to win the lottery. You need to set a goal that you can take action today and one actionable example is simply building a business.

Realistic - Making $1 million in a month is not a realistic goal but making $1 million in 5 years is. It is important to set a high goal but not something that is unrealistic for you. Goals has to be both a stretch and yet attainable so that you will stay motivated towards your goals. Some people can make $1 million in a year but some people don’t have the abilities to do so yet. So realistic is a different thing for different people.

Time Frame - When you set your goals, remember to set a time frame for them. A goal with just “I want to be a millionaire one day” is a weak goal because there is no time frame set for it but a goal that set a time frame of within 3 years is a good goal.

In our case, we set our milestones and goals based on monthly, quarterly and yearly to make sure that we are accountable to ourselves and our progress.

For example, my goal this month is to launch another product, and gain another 5,000 leads, and making more than $20,000 of revenues.

For the end of 3 months, our goal is to make 3 products, gain 20-30k leads and making more than 70k revenues.

You can do set this kind of milestones and goals to help you create some momentum in the year of 2012.

3) Find a Mentor/Coach to Assist You

When I first started my internet marketing journey, I don’t have any mentor or coach and I had to go through many ups and downs (around 3 years) before I started to get “Ah Has” moments of what works and what don’t work.

And I realized that it doesn’t have to be this way if I had found a good mentor or coach to guide me along from the start.

I gone for a bit of courses when I first started, but the trainings weren’t really the kind of training I needed to be successful in Internet Marketing.

What I would advice you to do if you want to be successful in anything is to find a mentor/coach who has already reached the kind of successes you want or desire.

For example, my coaching client looks for me because he knew that I’m extremely good in SEO and creating products online that can earn huge passive income. And he wants to learn this method too.

And that is what you want to do too, look at your potential coach/mentor’s businesses, and asked yourself if you like what he or she is doing. If yes, you can look for him or her to coach you.

Of course, it comes with a fee but it’s definitely worth it because it can shorten your learning process and allows you to achieve so much more within a short period of time.

Sometimes It doesn’t matter if you are learning from a book, an online course, a webinar or 1-1 coaching session, but as long as you are learning from a mentor, you are shortening your learning process and achieve more results in a shorter period of time. It is ultimately the information you are applying and the speed of implementation that matters.

Again, here are some courses you can learn from me or the people I would recommend:

1) Build a website and generate a $5,000 passive income from it
(These are the strategies I’m still using till this very day and making over 5 figures monthly now)

2) Leverage on the Internet and drive 6 figures of sales for your business
(Sign up for my webinar as I teaches anyone to make 6 figures of sales from their businesses)

3) Make Forex Income on Autopilot
(Learn from a Forex Trainer I partnered with)

4) Break down into actionable steps and take consistent action

After you have set your monthly milestones, you can break it into smaller actionable steps. For example, for an insurance broker, if he makes a goal of making $10,000 a month, he would need to break down the milestones into actionable steps.

In this case, making $10,000 a month could mean closing 20 sales a month for an insurance broker.

And 20 sales a month could mean 60 appointments, and 600 interactions with strangers.

Every week, he has to close 5 sales, make 15 appointments and 150 interactions with strangers.

Every day, he has to close approximately 1 sale, make 2-3 appointments and 20 interactions with strangers.

Can you see how you can break down your goals into actionable steps?

It does not matter if you are a trader or an internet marketer. If you want to achieve your goals, you need to work on your actionable steps and tweak your strategies along the way.

Do keep in mind that you need to have an open mind to learn and change along the way. Even when you have a coach or a mentor to guide you, many times it’s up to you to take action and complete the steps to move towards your goals.

Most people don’t achieve their goals because they are resistant to changes and couldn’t breakthrough of their own comfort zone. And you need to consistently push yourself in order to achieve what you want in life.

Be flexible to test things out in your business or passive income so that you know what works and what don’t work.

That’s all for this post on your 2012 New Year Resolution. Start making your New Year Resolution and let’s get some serious stuffs going on in the year 2012.

Hi George firstly wish you a Happy New Year,

I have read through your Internet Income Code and it gives me a clearly picture of IM and also encourage me to keep on pushing myself.

One of my goals is to focus on building credibility and helping influential Marketer to do stuff they don’t like to carry out.

Weeks back I reread a book “The Power of Focus” by Jack Canfield and it reinforces my focus.

Do you have any productivity and taking Action books to recommend? Thanks

Wish you more abundant of health and wealth. :)
