There are many instances where I talked about blogging could be a good vehicle to make money online.
But recently, I kind of find that even though it may be a good vehicle, it may not be the fastest way to riches. I’m not saying blogging can’t make you money but rather, how fast can it bring you to the pathway of riches and how much is that?
The truth is building a blog for the reason of becoming a millionaire could require a huge commitment.
Let’s take a look at some of the most successful bloggers out there..
Problogger.com, smartpassiveincome.com, or even stevepavlina.com, just how much are they making?
Definitely they are making income like 30k – 100 k per month. But exactly how many bloggers are making this kind of income?
Think about it this way, if Darren Rowse of Problogger is one of the top bloggers out there, and he is only making 50-100k a month, then what about the rest?
In fact, if these bloggers were to spend their effort on building other income streams, would they have done better?
After all, there are so many other internet marketers making so much more money from the internet. And 50 – 100k a month for most internet marketers are just pretty average.
If you were to plot a graph of internet marketers versus bloggers, the income distribution may look like 2 triangles with the top Internet Marketers making $1 million to $20 million a year while the top bloggers making $0.5 million to $2 million a year.
Now, if you asked why’s there such a big difference?
There are a couple of reasons -
Top internet marketers focus on copywriting and leverage. With these 2 factors combined, the results can be astronomical.
However, what does most bloggers do?
They only focus on their content and getting traffic.
The truth is big money lies in selling but not getting the traffic.
But for blogging, when you first started, it would only bring small amount of traffic. Well, and it takes a bloody long time to build up these traffic.
I’m not saying that you should not have blogs. But when you are using blogs, make sure it’s not your main focus. Your main focus should be ranking your website to the first posiion. And that ultimately brings you traffic.
Another reason why you want to blog is to keep your subscribers happy, communicate with them, and let them know you.
Other than that, if you hate writing, don’t fret. It’s not the main factor to make millions.
The main factors are still having a hot product, market the product well, and treat your customers well. Of course, working on these details are the keys to lots of money.
