If there’s one crucial element to succeed, it’s about knowing your customer’s mind. What are they thinking about? If you are able to do that, you will have a massive advantage over all the average competitors.
Just recently, I chanced upon this interesting article by this guy who recently has tremendous success in his iPhone app by Benny Hsu at http://photo365app.com/
He is just an ordinary guy with a job but there is something interesting in what he has done to achieve such results. He made a total of $2,325.91 in a day!
And here’s what my takeaway from his success is…
Benny basically came out with this idea but playing with existing app and realize that the applications at that time has limited features. He said that, “I knew there was a market for it and I knew I could really make my app stand out with little competition.”
He also noticed there were also many online projects on the same concept too.
But what I find most fascinating about his success in creating his product is that he looked through all the reviews and looked particularly at the average or bad reviews. And he realized that the users wanted to be able to see the days of the week. They are also looking for a realistic calender.
And Benny understands the consumers’ wants.
That’s basically what you need to do to have these kind of success! And it is the only way that you can get big time success in the long run.
And you can easily achieve that by just going through the reviews in terms of book buyers or products’ users, or even application users.
The next step that you want to do is to test out whether your assumptions are right. Sometimes, what you think about your consumers may not be right.
In fact, there was a bit of luck involve in Benny’s launch as he was featured in the “New” section at the 2nd position. If he wasn’t included in the first page of this app section, or if it’s somewhere lower in the section, he probably may not achieve as high of a success as this.
But of course, if he did not put up a good app, it’ll probably have 0% chance in appearing in that section.
Make sure you do your research and understand your target audience really well!
